I am Hannah and my middle name is Florence. So technically I am Hannah-Florence, but really I just go by Hannah. It seems like a lot of effort to call people by their full names and pretty quickly it can become a mouthful. I am freakishly tall and rather giggly, I have dark hair that goes through stages of being un-brushed and unloved or perfectly groomed. Most bloggers put something funny here or a picture but I will save that for my posts.
When I was very young I wanted to be a teacher or a lawyer or a doctor like most children of my age. Now I have no idea. This is the main reason why I am at university, Manchester to be precise, well that and the social life. I spent most of last year not working, not really doing anything, just being unwell so when I found I had got into university it was a great surprise. I had planned to spend this year in bed playing sims, or being a Patrick Wolf groupie. Instead I am spending alot of time in bed thinking about all the journals I should be reading and listening to Patrick Wolf while sticking random pictures to my wall. I am a Londoner at heart and moved to Hertfordshire a few years ago, now I am in Manchester which is better than Hertfordshire and you can’t really compare it to London it’s so different. I pretend to be sporty and go to the gym when I feel like it, however, most of my exercise comes from walking to the supermarket a few times a week to buy sugar free jelly and watermelon.
I like charity shops, Laura Marling, American politics, the bagel shop on Brick Lane, talking exchange rates, spending hours on facebook, Johnny Flynn, and bbc iplayer. I really, really dislike egg, dirty fingernails, Boris Johnson, cold tomato, Chaucer, the BNP, and people who play music on their mobiles on public transport.
I started off with a diagnosis of depression, I was not happy about this but then at that time I was not happy about much at all. When they gave me antidepressants I became manic and psychotic very quickly. After being forced into hospital twice I was told I had bipolar. On good days I deny that I have manic depression and on bad days I deny that I have manic depression. Occasionally I believe that my diagnosis is correct but most of the time I am angry, bitter and twisted.

Laura Marling. Laura Marling! Yay, you said you like Laura Marling (OK, and Johnny Flynn) so I am of course coming back to your blog.
Plus I think it was you commented on mine earlier…? You didn’t leave a link but the username was the same, right? colouredmind?
Anyway. So, hi. I’ll be back.

“…the bagel shop on Brick Lane”.
Yes, cream cheese with smoked salmon. Also, early morning on the Sunday market the eccentric stalls are brilliant. There was a guy last Summer who sold nothing but rusted old cogs.

Oops! While I was here I meant to say that your comment on my site got trapped in the spam queue. I’ve untrapped it and it now appears. I did see the R D Laing article.

Ah, well. Many people collect keys. Me, for one.
…
No, I don’t. But my sister does.
…
No, she doesn’t. But someone must!

people who play music on their mobiles on public transport
What if they use headphones?
You remind me of a friend who also lives in London and gave her A Levels last year.
Rock on!

Suzy- I lost the key to my bedroom door its a really old original thing. Maybe if I buy enough old random keys I might find one that fits my door. Or you could put them on necklaces to look ummm cool. Actually they would be quite good to throw at people you dont like, you know slightly heavy and pointed. I better shut up, I am not showung myself in a very good light.
Ashish- Nice to see you, welcome. yeah headphones are cool unless the music is so loud that you can hear the music still really I hate it when you get loud giggly kids on the back of a bus or train playing it from mobile speakers. Unless of course they are playing music I like and then that behaviour must be rewarded.

Lol. I use noise-cancelling ones which don’t let outside sounds enter my brain [other than the song] and don’t emit the sounds going in my brain to the outside.
But yeah, people playing songs on mobile speakers are annoying.
Have a great day.

Just stumbled accross your blog today. I have never really gotten into the whole reading or writting a blog part of the internet as of yet, dispite having been using it for years and years (like the rest of the population
).
!
I think that could be about to change
It’s rather enlightening to read about other peoples way of thinking and feeling and to find that dispite what everyone seems to have been telling me, I’m not the only one that felt/feels the way a did/do.
So, thanks

Fear and self loathing- Well if you go to your dashbord and click blog surfer you can enter URLs and it then shows a copy of each new post by anyone you are subscribed to. Or if you look to the top right of your screen under blog info you can click subscribe but it only works for wordpress blogs. Oh and you might want to put a link in your name so people can find your blog from camments you leave so to do that go to your profile where you added your picture and add your blog URL. Hope this helps. Hannah X

Hi Hannah. Wow, for 18 you have a really mature perspective on life. Alas, that sometimes comes with the territory. We have to grow up too fast.
I myself have bipolar, and I’m currently writing a book on it. “Now I Know My Father: A Story of Bipolar, Suicide and Hope” is my memoir of growing up with my bipolar father, losing him to suicide, and my own struggles with the illness.
I’m looking for other people who are struggling with bipolar and who have blogs, so we can trade links and keep in touch. We’ve got a growing community and a voice that’s gaining strength every day.
Please check out my blog at darknessandlight.us and let me know if you think we may be able to trade links.
Thanks!
